BRAND EXPLORATION / DESIGN
Background: The project aims at spreading awareness of undetected heart disease. Utilizing athletes, to lead by example in showing that heart disease can affect anyone, no matter what shape you are in. The topic is very dear to me due to personal reasons., which was why I pursued this project.
Insight: Sudden cardiac death is the most common medical cause of death with athletes, with an incidence of around 1 in 40,000 athletes per year.
Idea: Partnering with one of the world's biggest sporting associations, the NBA to give the topic a platform to reach the masses.
Execution: The design lead project centers around the alternation of the iconic NBA logo and playing with the acronym itself as a headline. Based on the assumption that the icon mark is so deeply rooted within culture that it can work with the altered meaning. The aesthetic approach aimed at being very minimalistic and clean, playing off the medical aspect of the project. The topic can be found further in the color choices and iconography.
