Insight: Skin cancer screening is not taken seriously by the younger generation. Often the barrier to be examined by a doctor is too high, or they simply tell themselves: "I am young and healthy". To make medical checkups more accessible, we have to go where the younger generation is.
The easiest skin cancer self-test ever - integrated into Snapchat. Using augmented reality, we developed an AR query filter for Snapchat that checks your birthmark with the A-E detection rules. After the filter runs the scan, a Virtual Stamp is generated, and you are directed to the integrated Snapchat card, where you can then book your skin cancer screening appointment with the nearest doctor. The current scan of the mole is saved on one's Snapchat avatar. 1 year after the last use, you receive a reminder via Snapchat's built in "Memories" reminder function. When scanning again, the filter compares both results and sends a notification as soon as it detects a change in the mole.
Client: Deutsche Krebshilfe, is the biggest cancer research and education foundation in Germany.
